How do you present the maturing time of native apples in an exciting way? You simply show the different changes an apple tree goes through during one year by means of an uninterrupted dollyshot.

But we do not only accompany the tree from blooming till full ripeness of its apples, we – at the same time – witness various weather conditions, positions of the sun and even people visiting the tree in the course of one year. Whether leaning on it, swinging in summer or harvesting the fruits in late summer, our tree is part of our life and an important provider of ripe fruits for a healthy and vitamin-packed nutrition.

For this movie the shots of the tree and the people visiting were filmed in South Africa. The remaining parts were added at our studios in Hamburg: several passes, that were shot without any motion control by the way, were built up, several backgrounds and skies assembled, shadows applied and people put in. Moreover, flying flowers and rain were realised in 3D. We do not want to keep this information from you either: even the one or the other part of our tree was upgraded by us.
