
ANIMATION
Everybody has – at least once in his life – looked at a flip-book. This is approximately what our work looks like every day. Realistic and emotionally absorbing animations require talent, knowledge and experience. We at LIGA_01 have attained a balance between technology and creativity that enables us to produce extraordinary pictures.
CHARACTER ANIMATION
Today, we cannot imagine a world of media without virtual characters. In order to create those digital representatives as naturally as our clients want them to be we need more than just machines. LIGA_01 has the crucial technologies and the know-how to animate cartoons and to develop digital creatures. Cartoons today, take increasing advantage of computer animation, as a digital character, once it has been created, is almost immediately available for use in every kind of medium. These easy to activate libraries cut costs and have learning effects especially in the case of testimonials in commercials or developments for batch productions. Moreover, digitalisation offers new artistic possibilities and therefore higher quality.
VIRTUELLE REQUISITEN
The rapid development of CGI (computer generated images) allows us to create image segments and requisites virtually and then integrate them into pictures. Only a few years ago those requisites had to be contstructed at considerable cost. In particular, when it comes to objects that should portray life and character, computer animation is, in terms of cost and quality,a great alternative to traditional puppet animation. In addition, big objects and means of transportation, that are very difficult to organize for a shoot, are now integrated into films at a later date. This is how a lot of cars, airplanes and even whole blocks of flats found their place in the films after the shooting was completed.
MASS SCENES
Every now and then we are asked to create pictures with huge amounts of people or animals. When doing the mass scene for our first film “Ratten” (Rats), we developed a tool that not only allow us to create such scenes but also makes them controllable. What would we do if every single one of the thousands of characters were his own man…?
Over the past few years and with several of these productions behind us, we can refer to a large library of figures and motion sequences. This enables us to create authentic crowd behaviour in just seconds.
TOOLS
When realizing your animations, we mainly work with the following software packages: SOFTIMAGE XSI, AUTODESK MAYA as well as individual solutions from other third party developers. Our software engineers develop in-house-solutions to convert and link different applications, thus increasing our productivity.
